Mount Tamalpais East Peak Loop on the Verna Dunshee Trail Professional Review and Guide
"On a clear day from the 2,571-foot summit of Mount Tamalpais, you can see the Farallon Islands to the west, the snow-covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the east, and all the coastline, hills, and valleys in between. High above the wooded hills and ridges of Marin County, the Verna Dunshee Trail clings to the slopes just below the East Peak. The hike is described in a guide available at the interpretive center, which is just north of the parking area. The walk is easy and flat, along a paved path that is wheelchair accessible most of the distance. Park activities include camping, picnicking, horseback riding, biking, and hiking, though the Verna Dunshee Trail is restricted to hiking. No dogs are permitted. There is a small fee."
