Griffin Loop Trail at Audubon Canyon Ranch Professional Review and Guide
"On weekends and holidays from the second weekend in March to the second weekend in July, Audubon Canyon Ranch allows visitors to hike up into the forest above Picher Canyon, and look down into the tree-top nests of snowy egrets and great blue herons. The trails in the preserve ramble through deep canyons of redwood trees overlooking the Bolinas Lagoon. The hike is relatively strenuous, but the trails are good, and there is shade (and perhaps fog) to cool the climbs. Park activities include hiking, bird watching, and picnicking. No bikes or dogs are allowed. There is no fee, although you can make a donation as you register. A visitor center is open when the preserve is open from mid-March through mid-July. Quiet is requested at the Henderson Overlook above the rookery. The ranch is closed to the public the rest of the year."
