Ladder Canyon

Ladder Canyon Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Ladder Canyon is the informal name given to a slotlike ravine incised into the sedimentary strata of the Mecca Hills on the eastern fringe of the Coachella Valley. Several ladders at strategic spots within the canyon assist or make feasible passages over abrupt dry falls (drop-offs) along the bottom. On rare occasions—mostly during summer thundershowers —these drop-offs come briefly alive with cascading, muddy water."

Very cool hike through a slot canyon with ladders, up to a flat top (lots of sun) then back down into a painted canyon.
