This trail provides access to the McCloud River, which is hard to reach in most places. Keep your eyes peeled, as the area is home to abundant wildlife. Observant—and lucky—hikers can spot mountain lions, black bears, mule deer, bald eagles, and the occasional (very rare) wolverine. Terrain: Dirt path through riparian streamside vegetation and mixed forest.
