Tomales Bay Professional Reviews and Guides
"These are fairly level hikes through pastureland out to bluffs overlooking Tomales Bay. Osprey nest at Millerton Point. Strong winds possible."
--Don & Kay Martin, Hiking Marin: 141 Great Hikes in Marin County (Marin Press LLC).
"The well-protected first section of this trip winds along a creek at the northern edge of Olema Marsh, a dense alder-willow thicket providing one of the most diverse bird habitats in the area, where the range of migrant land birds overlaps that of waterfowl. Gradually the creek’s tree-lined banks open up to reeds, then salt marsh, and finally into the broad expanse of south Tomales Bay, offering nice views of pine-forested Inverness Ridge along the left and rolling coastal hills on the right. Birding is good along the entire route. Ducks, geese, and shorebirds abound in the marsh, and Millerton Park harbors an osprey nesting site."
