Fourth of July Lake Trail

Fourth of July Lake Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Four bright lakes in sturdy granite cups, dazzling vistas, and nature’s finest flower gardens combine in this not-to-be-missed excursion into the Mokelumne Wilderness. This is a perfect area with wide trails traversing broad, meadow-covered benches. There are even a couple of optional, difficult, cross-country excursions. Unfortunately, like so many perfect areas, this one has been nearly loved to death. As part of the healing regimen prescribed by forest managers for this over-loved area, camping is restricted to specified sites. Campsite permits must be obtained from the Carson Pass Information Station before starting the hike. No campfires are permitted."
