Waterfall Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"The highlight of this hike is cattail-ringed Pacheco Pond, a quiet space where you and the dogs will have a wonderful time exploring—or simply taking a rest and having a snack. The closeness to the College of Marin makes the Indian Valley Open Space Preserve a popular place on weekends, but the farther back you go on the trails, among the bay laurel and live oak woods, the more solitude you’ll find."

"The highlight of this hike is cattail-ringed Pacheco Pond, a quiet space where the dogs will have a wonderful time taking a quick dip—and you can rest and take in a snack. The closeness to the College of Marin makes the Indian Valley Open Space Preserve a popular place on weekends, but the farther back you go on the trails, among the bay laurel and live oak woods, the more solitude you’ll seem to find. The trail begins near left field of the first baseball diamond, which is signed for Pacheco Pond Fire Road Trail. After traveling on this trail for about 150 yards, swing left onto signed Waterfall Trail, where you’ll reach circular Pacheco Pond. This 3-acre pond will give your four-footer a chance to swim with the resident duck population."
