    "Finding the campground: Take US 395 to CA 203. Head west to and through the town of Mammoth Lakes. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right onto Minaret and continue up the mountain past Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge and Minaret Vista Station to campground.

    About the campground: An overflow campground situated near the bank of the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River, at a point where the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail crosses the river (see Agnew Meadows Campground, 713). The river is stocked annually with trout from a place near the campground. Swimming is permitted at Starkweather Lake, about 1 mile north. A pack station is 2 miles north for horse rental and equestrian tours. Elevation 7,700 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open June through September."
