Panorama Dome Trail

Mammoth Lakes, California

Panorama Dome Trail Professional Review and Guide

"At first glance, this hike seems too short and convenient to hold any promise of reward. Start with a gentle uphill along this forested trail, following the path to where it emerges from the trees to the open meadow at the top. To Rover, this is just another opportunity to scamper around. But there isn’t another hike in these parts where you can be so wowed by the views with so little sweat. Feast on the 360-degree panorama. From this perspective, Mammoth Mountain seems so close you could almost reach out and touch it. The dome is a scenic lookout over the town of Mammoth Lakes, with views of the White Mountains and Crowley Lake in the distance, embraced by Mammoth Mountain and the Mammoth Crest above and Twin Lakes below."
