On rare and far between occasions in life, a situation comes along that seems too good to be true, but turns out to be true. The hike to McLeod Lake is one of those. It’s a short and relatively easy jaunt to one of the most pristine and lightly frequented settings in the Eastern Sierra. The first thoughts triggered by McLeod Lake: how can you walk to something this pretty from a paved parking lot and with so little exertion, and where is everybody? What you see is what you get, honest!

This is an easy hike with views galore. Beautiful Lake, catch and release only. It's great hike if you live in Mammoth and want to give the dogs a run after work.
