South Los Angeles County Campgrounds Professional Review and Guide
"This area encompasses the most heavily populated section of the city of Los Angeles, including some of its most famous locations. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Long Beach, Santa Monica, and Malibu all add their distinctive flavor to the area, and each has its own attractions for the visitor. Universal Studios in Hollywood, the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Santa Monica Pier, and the Venice Boardwalk are just a few examples. The new Getty Center highlights the area's many famous museums and El Pueblo de Los Angeles features 27 buildings of architectural and historical importance. East of Santa Monica, 30 miles of beaches line the Pacific Coast Highway, including Topanga, Malibu, Point Dume, and Leo Carrillo State Beach. Inland, the Santa Monica Mountains offer beautiful Malibu Creek and Topanga State Parks, with miles of hiking, cycling, and equestrian trails.
