The Mash site is only a couple hundred feet from that rocky creek bed. I had to walk too, and the Mash site (a burned Jeep and ambulance) was right around the corner. I think it was worth pushing the bike for a bit. This is such a beautiful area to ride. Up the trail past the Mash site is a dead end and a water fall at the dam at Malibu lake. There is a picnic bench under a tree. A perfect place for a break.

We visited this trail with our two children aged 10 and 12 since it was rated as "easy". We never made it to the Mash site. The "try to ride through the rocky creek bed" comment is a large understatement. Although very easy in the beginning, the rocky bed is very difficult terrain and after awhile of trying to walk our bikes through it we gave up and turned back. Not for beginners.
