20 Lakes Basin Trail

20 Lakes Basin Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Twenty beautiful high alpine lakes in one small basin is certainly a good enough reason for a visit, and the beautiful backdrop of glacier-clad mountains will make you want to return again and again. The relatively short access trails and minor elevation gain are added incentives to make repeated visits. If this sounds like a paradise with easy access and beautiful scenery, it is. Naturally, this perfection attracts large numbers of hikers. Then, to compound the overuse problem, a passenger ferry makes several trips a day carrying swarms of additional hikers to the upper end of Saddlebag Lake, cutting 3 miles off the loop’s total distance."
