East Molera Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"Andrew Molera State Park encompasses 4,800 acres along both sides of Highway 1 , with the majority of the acreage east of the highway. The East Molera Trail climbs up the coastal slope of the Santa Lucia Mountains to amazing vistas of the entire state park and up the coastline to the Point Sur Lightstation. The path crosses an old pasture to a ridge, where there is a beautiful grove of stately redwoods backed by towering Pico Blanco. The views include Molera Beach, Molera Point, Creamery Meadow, the Big Sur River, Trail Camp, Pfeiffer Ridge, and the expansive coastline."

"This trail switchbacks up a sheer hillside to a secluded ridge capped with redwoods. The 1.6-mile trail reaches 1550 feet, offering sweeping views of the coast and Santa Lucia Range. Bring plenty of water and a wide-brimmed hat for the exposed stretch to the ridge, and pack a sweater or windbreaker for the return hike."
