Solstice Canyon and Rising Sun Trails

Solstice Canyon and Rising Sun Trails Professional Review and Guide

"This hike has wide appeal and gets quite busy on weekends. It begins in a wooded valley on a flat trail that follows a creek to a year-round waterfall; it then winds up the hillside to a ridge offering canyon and ocean views.

You’ll also see the ruins of a historic ranch house and the remains of a space-research facility that tested satellite equipment in the 1960s and ’70s. Solstice Canyon is an ideal hike to take on a summer day when triple-digit temperatures render most other Los Angeles trails oppressive."
