Easy access and spectacular scenery combine on one of Sequoia’s most popular hiking and backpacking trips. All four lakes are quite picturesque, and hikers will enjoy plenty of outstanding views along the way, including the spectacular vista from the Watchtower, a narrow ledge dynamited out of a sheer cliff forming the canyon wall above Tokopah Valley, 2,000 feet below.

My first backpacking trip and it was amazing. Even if you don’t camp there, make sure to at least hike up to the top to Pear Lake. Use caution around the Watchman’s Tower area, the drop is a big one.
