Mary Smith and Cooper Gulch Campgrounds

Mary Smith and Cooper Gulch Campgrounds Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"If you’re a die-hard lake lover but reservoir ring has you down, head up to Lewiston Lake— the last reservoir on the Trinity River before the river flows wild and free to the Pacific. Lewiston, with its clean, clear, and cool waters, is always full—even in a drought.

The quiet, 750-acre lake restricts motorized boats to a speed of less than 10 miles per hour and is well stocked with rainbows, browns, and kokanee salmon. The placid waters are ideal for paddlers, and campers at Mary Smith and Cooper Gulch Campgrounds have front-door access to this aquamarine paradise.

Think twice about bringing a family with young kids or any pets—poison oak thrives here, and open spaces to play are few and far between"
