Slate Creek Fork of Lee Vining Creek Professional Review and Guide
"This walk has a very different feel than most other Tioga Pass area walks, for you are not following a lake-dotted route but instead a gently sloping valley with expansive meadows interspersed with scattered groves of trees. A small creek descends the middle of the flower-filled setting. All the while you are staring at a magnificent backdrop, a semicircle of steep granite walls with year-round snowbanks. The surroundings on the entirety of this trail are so spectacular that it is satisfying to stop and sit on a beautiful rock slab anywhere beyond the Carnegie Institute cabin."
