Middle and Upper Gaylor Lakes

Middle and Upper Gaylor Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"The hike to the Gaylor Lakes leads to a high altitude "top of the world" alpine plateau. The lakes sit above 10,000 feet in a treeless meadow teaming with wildflowers, babbling creeks, and an endless panorama of mountain peaks in every direction. The hike includes a visit to a stone cabin, built from native rock without mortar, and the remains of the Great Sierra Mine, built in the late 1870s. From the mine is a magnificent view south of the two lakes and the surrounding peaks."
