The High Sierra Camps Loop is very popular, since the 5 backcountry camps are spaced about 6 to 10 miles apart, ideal for most backpackers. The loop is broken into two parts because most hikers don’t have six days free, and by being out fewer days, you will have a lighter pack. On your first day, when your pack is heaviest and you are perhaps are not in the best of shape, your hike, thankfully, is very easy.
