Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

"Solitude is the chief attraction along this section of the Pacific Crest Trail, as the route between Highway 36 and County Road 311 receives little use. For the most part, the path travels through featureless sections of private and public land that have been logged. However, the trip has a few worthwhile attributes, including Stover Spring, periodic views of Lassen Peak, and a bridged crossing of North Fork Feather River."

If you head south from this trailhead maybe 3 - 5 miles you will come to a place on the map called soldier meadows. A beautiful green lush meadow with a creek. From there the trail heads up a mountain. Steep and rocky. I may have some pictures to upload. To the north is toward Lassen peak. There is a better place to park about 1/4 mile back toward chester if you have a horse trailer.
