Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

"This short, easy stroll along Burney Creek to Headwaters Pool offers a fine diversion from the hubbub one normally encounters near Burney Falls overlook. The route combines the Headwaters Trail with a section of the famed Pacific Crest Trail to create a loop along Burney Creek above the falls to Headwaters Pool and back. Depending on the previous winter’s snowpack and the extent of irrigation diversions, and despite the abundant volume of water pouring over the falls, Burney Creek may be dry above the spring-fed pool by midsummer."
