Minaret Falls Trail Professional Review and Guide
"What this hike doesn’t boast in grandiose views, it makes up for with a level, pine-shaded route between the backside of the western Sierra slopes and the prominent Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River. The trail leads you to the base of the surprisingly underrated Minaret Falls and the opportunity to hike along one of the country’s most famous trails, the Pacific Crest. Watch for national monument–posted regulations in the initial stretch of this hike, where pooch must be leashed from time to time. These brief interruptions to his sprints of wild abandon are good opportunities to practice recall drills and will make off-leash romping farther along the hike even sweeter."
