Starting off by Devils Gulch Creek, Bill’s Trail gently ascends to the top of Barnabe Peak and past a 30-foot waterfall. At the peak’s lookout, the 360-degree view takes in Tomales Bay, the Pacific Ocean, the towns of San Geronimo and Lagunitas, and isolated Kent Lake and Peters Dam in the Marin County watershed. The fire roads on the way down allow you to enjoy those vistas a while longer. Trails Surface: Paved fire road for 0.1 mile to single-track dirt trail up the mountain at about a 5 percent grade. Return on dirt fire roads through grasslands.
