Brooks Street

Brooks Street Professional Review and Guide

"Brooks Street is a rock reef that breaks in three main spots. It’s a temperamental break, so make sure the swell direction is from the south or southwest.

Brooks Street can be really good with the right conditions; otherwise it can be a total bust. Brooks Street really requires a southern hurricane out of Baja California, but it will take any other swells. It’s mostly in summer and into fall that stronger south swells cause a good-size bump where the reef meets the swell. There are three rock reefs off Brooks Street that—depending on wave size—put out a smooth right with rocks in between. If this is your first time at Brooks Street, surf only at low tide."
