Parry Grove Trail, Whitaker Garden Professional Review and Guide

"The Parry Grove Trail is a half-mile loop named for the botanist who originally described and named the Torrey pine. The steep path descends 100 steps to the oldest grove of Torrey pines in the state reserve, dating back to the 1870s. The trail contours the oceanfront slope and includes sitting benches that overlook the Canyon of the Swifts, a deep and rugged gorge. The trail begins at the Whitaker Memorial Native Plant Garden, a garden with labeled native California plants that can be seen throughout the park."

Interesting trail and, fortunately, not crowded when we were there today (probably because it was a weekday and cloudy).

Short and easy, though the stairs might pose trouble for some. Very crowded on weekends.
