Sugarloaf Fall

Sugarloaf Fall Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"An easy loop in a Wine Country park leads through meadowland and woodland to a seasonal cascade near the headwaters of Sonoma Creek.

Sugarloaf Fall, also called the Canyon Trail waterfall and the Sonoma Creek waterfall, is tucked in a verdant canyon on the lower slopes of Bald Mountain. It’s a pretty little seasonal cascade, strengthened by winter rains and typically dry by late June, with a pool at its base and a thick green canopy overhead.

Hiking directly to the fall is a relatively straightforward affair, but it would be a shame to limit your visit to this unique regional park to that experience. One aspect of that uniqueness is the park’s astronomical focus: Not only is it home to the Robert Ferguson Observatory and its telescopes, it also features a Planet Walk, a moderately difficult hike that scales the solar system to walking distance."
