Mount Laguna to Agua Caliente Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Get set for an incredible journey. Botanically and climatically, this is the equivalent of traveling from Canada to Mexico. From the edge of cool pine forest, you descend to a land desiccated by the hot sun and inhabited by austere-looking plants. Depending on the time of day, the temperature increases by perhaps 50°F and the air you breathe becomes noticeably denser and drier. This route offers the only relatively easy way to travel from the top of the Lagunas to the desert floor without trespassing on private property. You’ll cross national forest land, a big parcel of Bureau of Land Management land, a strip of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and, finally, Agua Caliente Regional Park."
