Lucky Boy Vista Loop Professional Reviews and Guides

"This relatively flat hike to the Elton Mine site is on a broad sandy jeep track which is in better shape than the Geology Tour Road extension you take to get here. The trail climbs gradually above a yucca and pinyon boulder garden to the north. Just beyond the mine on a lofty plateau is a magnificent overlook of the Split Rock region of the park. For a short hike, this outing provides you with an opportunity for desert solitude, a great view, and a historical site. The reverse view on the trip back to the car is equally spacious. A short round-trip to a plateau vista and site of the old Elton Mine."
