Great hike leading to an old mine. The mine itself is fenced, but there is some interesting machinery to explore outside. Hike a short distance above the mine for great views of the park. When we went there, half of the trail passed vegetation damaged by fire, which made for sad, moon-like landscape. The other part had lush vegetation, lots of wildflowers and yuccas, and a couple of Joshua Trees. We saw a hare munching on some bushes, a couple of lizards and some birds.
