South Gerstle Trail and the Southern Bluffs

South Gerstle Trail and the Southern Bluffs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Gerstle Cove is an underwater ecological reserve at the southern end of Salt Point State Park. The reserve supports and protects a diverse community of fish, invertebrates, and aquatic plants. From the main entrance to the park, the South Gerstle Trail travels along the rugged bluffs above the cove. The trail explores eroding sandstone cliffs and the jagged, chiseled headland of South Gerstle Point, a rocky promontory that juts out into the ocean. The views include wave-carved caves, natural bridges, and the crashing surf, which constantly batters the offshore rocks below."
