North Jenner Headland

Jenner, California

North Jenner Headland Professional Review and Guide

"North of Jenner, Highway 1 clings to the rugged, breath-taking cliffs with winding bends and steep hairpin switchbacks. This dramatic and pristine stretch of coastline offers sweeping vistas of craggy cliffs plunging into the turbulent sea and jagged offshore rocks. The North Jenner Headland sits atop the steep oceanfront bluffs between Russian Gulch and Jenner. The massive 100-foot-high monolith rises out of the ocean, connected to the mainland by a narrow ridge. This hike crosses the marine terrace from Highway 1 to the headland. A cliff-edge trail follows the serrated bluffs across the 200-foot plateau, passing a series of secluded pocket beaches and elevated overlooks. The panoramic vistas include beach coves, sea stacks, oceanfront mountains, and sweeping coastal views."
