Possibly the quickest-to-reach significant summit on the entire eastern side of the Sierra. Kearsarge Peak is quick work from the Onion Valley trailhead. But although the distance is short, don’t forget that there is over 3,000 feet of elevation to be gained.

This trailhead is not in the Onion Valley parking lot but rather, less than a mile down the road from the parking lot, on the left side as you come down from the parking lot. Trail is very hard to find.
