Kearsarge Pass to Mount Gould Trail

Kearsarge Pass to Mount Gould Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Kearsarge Pass is one of the most popular backpacking entry points into the Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks region. It is popular because of its relatively steady grade and short distance. The trail constantly ascends, branching near the beginning for Golden Trout Lake, and again, farther on, near Matlock Lake. Stay straight each time. (Due to the lakes, this trail is also popular with fishermen.) As you ascend, the pass comes into clear view. The way meanders a bit and switchbacks up the mountain, making the distance appear less than it actually is."
