"Finding the campground: From Mount San Jacinto State Park headquarters in Idyllwild, drive north 6.7 miles on CA 243. Turn right onto FR 4S01 (a narrow, unpaved road) and drive 3 miles.

About the campground: High in the Black Mountain National Scenic Area (elevation 7,300 feet), this campground provides access to several trails that lead to panoramic overlooks. Stay limit fourteen days. Open May through September."
