Bolsa Chica State Beach Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This campground is little more than a parking lot for self-contained RVs, but it provides direct access to a beautiful 6-mile-long sandy beach. The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, which adjoins the park on the north, is a 500-acre salt marsh with interpretive displays, a 3-mile loop trail, and a 1-mile-long nature trail. A 10-mile coastal trail leads from the park to Newport Beach Pier. A paved bike path, 20 miles long, runs south to Dana Point.
The area is a paradise for birders, as it is a rest stop along the Pacific Flyway for migrating shorebirds and waterfowl. Stay limit seven days from June through September, fourteen days from October through May. Open all year."
