Princess Campground

Princess Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"You’ll love Princess Campground just like you love a golden retriever for being a basic good dog. Set under the shade of second-growth sequoias and pines, Princess is covered on one flank by a shimmering alpine meadow. The campsites are private and level, and everything is well maintained and clean.

Hume Lake, 3 miles down the road, is a big draw for anybody with an inflatable water toy or a fishing rod. A huge Christian campground occupies one end of the lake’s shoreline. Dammed up by lumber folks, Hume Lake supplied the water for the flume that scooted timber down to Sanger in the San Joaquin Valley 54 miles away. Flumes work on the same principle as water slides: water reduces friction."
