"The redwoods in the Rockefeller Grove may be slightly less impressive than their counterparts in the Founders Grove, but this grove has one major advantage over its more popular neighbor—less highway noise. Located across South Fork Eel River from the Avenue of the Giants and US 101 and on a flat next to Bull Creek, the Rockefeller Grove emits a more serene ambiance, a much better atmosphere in which to pay homage to the tall trees. You may hear the occasional vehicle on nearby Mattole Road, but the volume of traffic is much less than the welltraveled highways to the east." Read more
