Mckinleyville School Road Trail Professional Review and Guide
"McKinleyville was originally named Minorsville, but the town changed its name in 1901 in honor of the assassinated President McKinley. As you drive through town on your way to Mill Creek Falls, you will almost certainly notice a huge totem pole in the center of town. This is the tallest totem pole in the world; carved from a single redwood tree, the totem pole is 160 feet tall and weighs approximately 57,000 pounds. McKinleyville is located along Highway 101 just north of Arcata. This trail guide contains descriptions of the following trails: Mill Creek Falls."
