Pinnacles Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Pinnacles National Monument is a fascinating park. Miles of challenging trails thread over rock outcrops, along creeks, and even through caves. Unfortunately, the park’s prime walk-in campground, on the west side of the park, was washed away in 1998’s El Niño flooding, and there are no plans to rebuild. Fortunately, a wonderful, privately run campground sits just over the park’s eastern boundary. Pinnacles National Monument has limited parking inside the park; by setting up a base camp at the campground, you can walk into the park, or take a convenient shuttle bus. This translates to extra snuggle time in your sleeping bag, because even when the national monument’s lots fill early, you won’t be turned away on foot. From April to October, cool down after a grueling hike with a dip in the campground pool, then return to your campsite and lounge about."
