Hermosa Beach Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hermosa Beach is a sandbar break that breaks best at low tide and produces both left and right mushy peaks. Hermosa Beach is the last of the South Bay coastline’s major beach cities.

Hermosa translated from Spanish means “beautiful,”and the city today offers a well-manicured stretch of creamy-colored sand with a boardwalk-style atmosphere. The average temperature here is seventy degrees in summer and fifty-five in winter—a lot cooler than most people imagine a California summer to be. Most of this is due to the marine layer that covers the area for much of early summer. Hermosa Beach is located in a smaller geographic area than most other South Los Angeles County beaches, giving it a unique feel."
