Mt. Washington Professional Review and Guide
"At 7818 feet, Mt. Washington provides a fine perch from which to view the peaks and ridges of the northern Sierra. Choosing to begin at the A Tree Trailhead minimizes the distance and, perhaps more importantly, the elevation gain. Definitely a high route, the first half of the trip follows a little-used section of the well-graded Pacific Crest Trail along the spine of the Sierra, while the second half follows the extension of Mt. Washington’s south ridge to the summit. A short rock scramble is necessary to gain the top, but the climb is easily accomplished by all but severe acrophobes."
