Traveling the entire trail is 2.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 391 feet. The Hume 'n Beans cafe and the Lower Lawn grass are near the trailhead. There are also a bench and a telephone. The Powder Can Day Use recreation ground and the Sandy Cove Beach (elevation 5,207 feet) beach can be seen along the trail.
