Usal Road

Usal Road Professional Review and Guide

"This is a tortuous road, much along high ridges, through enchanting forest of second-growth redwood and Douglas fir, madrone, tanoak and ferns. The King Range rises more than 4,000 feet in less than 3 miles from the ocean. Historic Usal has a quaint wooden bridge and gray-sand beach."

Gave 5 stars since that is what the last reviewer gave it... Should be an option to post a report without a rating. I did not take this trail as the sign on the Shelter Cove side said "not open to through traffic." I guessed the road was cut due to a slide or something. I will try taking it again when I have more time.

I go out to Usal when ever I can. I mainly camp, but have hiked the trail. This is a link to a video I shot out there. http://www.vimeo.com/2829409 Can't wait to go again.
