Beginning at a favorite redwood-rimmed swimming hole, this trail crosses a seasonal bridge and climbs steeply up into drier oak-and-madrone woodlands overlooking the steep-walled Eel River Canyon. Panorama Point offers a great aerial view of the river valley, while the trail follows a series of old skid trails and logging roads along the ridge, ending up at Oak Flat Campground, and returning via the campground access road.
