Death Valley Furnace Creek

Death Valley: Furnace Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Furnace Creek is the only campground in Death Valley with trees large enough to shade some of its campsites—an important consideration in summer. Its campsites are spaced along several loops, offering an alternative to the parking-lot style of Stovepipe Wells (see no. 446 above) and Sunset (see below) Campgrounds.

There are good views of the mountains from many of the sites. The Death Valley Museum and the Borax Museum are located close to the campground, as are two interpretive trails, the Harmony Borax Works Trail and the Golden Canyon Trail. Elevation 196 feet below sea level. Stay limit fourteen days. Open all year."
