Pine Flat Lake Deer Creek Point

Pine Flat Lake: Deer Creek Point Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Pine Flat, a large and scenic lake in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada, offers a full range of water activities. Rainbow and brown trout, large- and smallmouth bass, kokanee salmon, bluegill, crappie, and catfish are the most common catches. The reservoir has four campgrounds on its north shore: Deer Creek Point, Island Park, Trimmer, and Sycamore (see nos. 115, 116, and 117 below).

In addition, two county campgrounds are located just below Pine Flat Dam on Kings River (see nos. 112 and 113 above). Because the lake is subject to irrigation drawdowns, water levels can fluctuate daily, making established beaches impractical. The water level is usually highest in spring. A commercial marina is located at Deer Creek Point. It offers boat and slip rentals and camping and fishing supplies. Stay limit fourteen days. Open all year."
