Mount Brewer is the dominant peak in a region of dominant peaks. Within a 4-mile radius of Mount Brewer there is a cluster of superb peaks, each exceeding 13,000 feet, that are highly prized among climbers—Thunder Mountain, Table Mountain, North Guard, South Guard, and Midway Mountain. From the summit are unobstructed views of the Great Western Divide to the south and the Kings-Kern Divide to the east, and, farther to the east, great views of Mount Tyndall, Mount Williamson, Mount Russell, Mount Whitney, and Mount Muir, all over 14,000 feet.
