    "The park preserves the site of the only town in California founded, financed, and governed by African Americans. The town, named for a US Army chaplain, has been partially restored, and visitors can tour former homes and other buildings, many with original or period furnishings.

    Guided tours may also be arranged by calling the Department of Parks and Recreation. Stay limit fifteen days from June through September, thirty days from October through May. Open all year."
