Sunol Wilderness: Maguire Peaks Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This circuit of Maguire Peaks, via the Upper Maguire Peaks and Maguire Peaks trails and the Maguire Peaks Loop, explores a hidden corner of Sunol Wilderness, divided by Welch Creek Road from the main part of the park. The scenery is beautiful and serene, and the vistas from several vantage points are superb. To top it off (literally), you can make an ascent of Maguire Peaks west summit (1688’), a mountain climb in miniature. Parts of this semi-loop route may be extremely muddy during and after wet weather. (The letters SO, for Sunol/Ohlone, and numbers in parentheses in the route description below refer to numbered junctions on the park map. These markings can be found on trail posts along the trail.)"
